Comparison
Harvey vs ClientSafeAI: something like Harvey, for a small firm?
Is there something like Harvey for a small firm?
The short answer
Harvey is a legal AI platform sold to law firms through its sales team, hosted on Microsoft Azure with each customer’s data logically separated. ClientSafeAI is narrower: document chat and transcription on a server that belongs to your firm alone, at a published $499 a month.
- Pick Harvey if you want a broad legal AI platform with legal-specific workflows, independent certifications and an enterprise sales and onboarding process.
- Pick ClientSafeAI if you’re a smaller firm that mainly needs to ask questions of its own documents, wants a published price, and wants those documents on hardware no other customer touches.
Side by side
| Compared on | Harvey | ClientSafeAI |
|---|---|---|
| Where the model runs | Harvey’s cloud environment on Microsoft Azure, with processing in the EU and Switzerland or Australia for customers who need it. Harvey requires zero data retention from its model providers. | On a GPU server dedicated to your firm, in the US by default or in another country as a customization. The AI model, database and files all run on that one machine. |
| Trains on your data? | No. Harvey contractually prohibits its model providers from training on customer data. | Never, on any plan. |
| Hardware shared with other customers? | Shared cloud. Each customer’s data is logically separated to prevent commingling. | No. One customer per server. |
| Price | Not published. Sold through Harvey’s sales team. | $499/mo flat. Unlimited documents and questions, no per-seat pricing. |
| Minimum commitment | Not published. | Month to month. Cancel any time. |
| Independent audits | SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and ISO 42001. | No third-party audit report (SOC 2 or ISO) yet. We don’t sign HIPAA BAAs. |
When Harvey is the better choice
- You need legal-specific workflows well beyond document Q&A, built and maintained by a large legal AI team.
- If a client or panel requires SOC 2 or ISO reports today, Harvey has them. We don’t yet.
- You’re a large firm that wants an enterprise rollout: onboarding, training and a customer success team.
